Detailed Itinerary for a 8 Days in Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport, go to a guided Kigali tour then to your hotel

You will land at the Kigali International Airport and meet our tour guide to begin your 8 Days Rwanda Safari. Our tour guide will display your names on the placard to easily identify them. You will head on a quick Kigali City. Navigate around the beautiful city, see the famous Rwanda Genocide Memorial, buy any souvenirs in local markets and much more. Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park for an evening Game Drive Safari

In the morning of your day 2 of 8 Days Rwanda, Our tour guide will take you to Akagera National Park, the journey takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, reach and check-in to your booked Hotel. You will probably reach in the hours of lunch, eat, and then unwind while you wait for a boat excursion. Hippos and crocodiles can often be seen swimming during the Lake Ihema boat excursion. On the lake’s edges, one can witness wildlife such as buffaloes and elephants. Following the boat ride, you make your way to a reserved lodging place for supper, check-in and stay overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive in the morning and later Lake Ihema Boat Cruise

Wake-up and have breakfast and then head to an early morning 4 hour game drive through the scenic savannah grasslands, You will see various herbivores Animals feeding in the morning. Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up at your lodge or hotel and take you to the start of the park. When you get to Kinigi, the base of the park, the park ranger tells you what to do and what not to do while gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Around 8:30 am, the park official guide will take you to the place where the gorilla trekking begins. One gorilla family is assigned to each of the eight people who have bought a trekking permit from Rwanda, which costs $1500 USD. Two to six hours are spent in the forest with armed guard guides going through the bamboo forest with every eight people. You only get to spend an hour with the mountain gorillas, though. The walk lasts for different amounts of time depending on how the gorilla groups move. However, the trip is pretty easy because Rwanda’s gorillas move in shorter groups. You spend an hour with the family of gorillas and then walk back to the park offices to meet your tour guide and be driven back to your hotel.

Days 7: Gorilla Trekking and later on transfer to Lake Kivu

After your Gorilla Trekking experience, you will be taken to Lake Kivu’s serene shoreline for a leisurely afternoon filled with sightseeing and beautiful scenery.
