Our Story: A Simple Idea That Became a Business
Car Rental Safaris Africa began in 2023, during a 10-day safari in Uganda with two guests from Belgium
We travelled through Jinja and Murchison Falls, continued to Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, and then headed towards gorilla trekking and some relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi.
On our way to Kibale for a chimpanzee experience, One of the guest shared an idea that stayed with me. He explained that some travellers would love to experience this kind of safari but would prefer to drive themselves rather than travel with a guide throughout the journey.
I realised there was an opportunity to help these travellers explore East Africa independently, with a suitable 4×4 vehicle and guidance to help them plan their routes.
That evening, while resting at the end of the day, I began exploring the idea. I searched for the name Car Rental Safaris, found that the domain was available, registered it, and started working towards turning the idea into a business.
Our first self-drive client hired a Toyota RAV4 for a trip to Murchison Falls National Park. Seeing the idea become a real experience for a traveller was exciting. It showed me that there was room to build something around people who wanted to discover Africa at their own pace.
What began as an idea centred on self-drive safaris has since grown to include other rental options, such as vehicles with a driver, camping equipment, long-term rentals, and one-way rentals.
And that is how Car Rental Safaris Africa began: with a conversation, an opportunity, and a desire to help more people experience Africa in their own way.

Savio is the Director of Technology and one of the owners at Car Rental Safaris Africa. Savio is a passionate hardworking and yet humble individual. He loves God and he puts God as number one in everything he does.
He is the chief company strategist and vision bearer at Car Rental Safaris Africa
Savio is a full stack developer of Oracle Administration and Oracle Application Express. he designs tailor made software for different organisations both in the Private sector and Government.
He has been on quite a number of projects and he is a seasoned IT support personnel on those Projects
Savio hold a Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting Major) from Makerere university, and he is so passionate with I.T
