Detailed Itinerary for a 7 Days in Rwanda Safari

Day1: After coming from Kigali International Airport  go to your  arranged hotel of accommodation and prepare your self

At Kigali International Airport, our guide will welcome to start your seven-day Rwanda Safari. The guide will have a sign with your names on it so you can easily seen. Following a brief introduction and meeting our  guide will transport you to the hotel that you have reserved. Reach to the hotel relax, and have dinner, spend well your evening.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park and have an evening boat cruise.

After the guide has picked you from the hotel, he will drive you to Akagera National park were you will spend about 2hours and 30min, you will meet and greet the people who manages the park before your safari. Then you will have to get lunch in time, and then relax as waiting for a boat ride experience. Hippos and crocodiles can often be seen swimming during the Lake Ihema boat excursion. On the lake’s edges, one can witness wildlife such as buffaloes and elephants. After the boat adventure is done, you will return to the hotel room were you had booked, have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Early Morning you will travel to Volcanoes National Park to attend a game drive

Wake-up and have breakfast in the morning, after which you go on a 4 hour game drive through the picturesque savannah plains, depending on the animals you see and your interests. Among the creatures visible are the big five game—Buffales, Rhinos, Elephants, Lions, and Leopards. Giraffes, zebras, hyenas, cape bushbuck, Topis, oribis, roan antelopes, duikers, impala, cape eland, and many other animal species are among the others. Following your early game drive, you head to Volcanoes National Park for lunch. The route from Akagera will pass via the beautiful towns of Kigali and other places. In the evening you will be scheduled to arrive at Volcanoes National Park.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Safari at Volcanoes National Park

Our guide will pick you up from the hotel, or lodge after breakfast and take you to the park headquarters. When you reach the headquarters in Kinigi the park warden will give you advice on what to do and the don’ts of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Around 8:30am the park ranger will take  you to the starting of your safari.  One gorilla family is assigned to each of the eight people who have purchased a trekking permit from Rwanda, which costs $1500 USD. Every eight people spend two to six hours in the bush traveling with armed ranger guides through the bamboo forest. But you only spend an hour (60 minutes) with the mountain gorillas. The duration of the walk varies based on the movements of the gorilla groups; however, because Rwanda’s gorrillas are known to travel shorter distances, the trek is rather straightforward. You spend an hour with the gorilla family before walking back to the park headquarters to meet your tour guide and be driven back to your accommodation.

Day 5: Golden Monkey trekking at the Volcanoes plus a travel to Nyungwe Forest

In the morning, you will hike with golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, where they coexist with mountain gorillas. Golden monkeys are easily recognized by their color and have distinct personalities. Before Hiking, You must report to the park headquarters by 7;00am for a summarized briefing. Rwanda is home to two troopings of golden monkeys, the largest of which may be seen on the top of Mount Sabinyo, which receives between 80 and 100 visitors each day. You are taken to Nyungwe Forest National Park after your trek and back to your hotel for lunch. Your chosen lodging close to the park will be your place of stay for the night.

Day 6: Chimpanzee hiking and canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park.

After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven to the park headquarters to begin your chimpanzee trekking adventure. You stroll for a while before coming to the chimps’ previous nighttime quarters. It will depend on the rate of times to which the chimpanzees quickly jump and play in order to take the number of images, therefore the they play the more higher chances to take photos. You can witness them jumping from tree to tree at a fast rate of speed while emitting noise. Following the hike, you make your way back to the starting site of the trip, where you meet the driver-guide for a transfer to the hotel for lunch and rest. You spend around two hours in the evening doing a canopy walk through Nyungwe Forest. After you will return to the hotel for a refreshment of a dinner.

7th Day: It Marks the end of 7 days Rwanda Safari. You will be returned to Kigali International Airport.

The last of the trip. You have your morning breakfast at your own pace and leisure, varying on the time when you’re leaving. Your guide will ensure that the craft departing Kigali International Airport is taken care of. You can also request the guide to take you to some of the craft shops and some other local markets in Kigali if you would like to buy something.
